Jim has lived and worked in Shenandoah for over 20 years and is dedicated to ensure it continues to be the best place to live in America. He truly loves Shenandoah and the positive direction it is going and works hard to protect it and improve it.
As a retired top-level media executive, an actively involved Shenandoah resident and well-respected community leader, Jim is committed to keeping Shenandoah a great place to live and raise a family. He’s open-minded, solution-oriented and can be trusted to stay focused on the needs of our residents.
Qualifications
After retiring as General Manager of Community Impact Newspaper he proudly joined Ritch Wheeler’s Shenandoah City Government team
Currently serving on Shenandoah City Council since 2022 (Re-Elected in 2023)
Shenandoah Planning & Zoning Commissioner almost 5 years, served as Vice Chairman 2020-2022
Participated in developing major updates to the City’s development code and comprehensive plan which simplified permitting processes for residents and businesses and opens up opportunities for development along I-45 southbound (eliminating an eyesore)
Business and Community Background-Extensive knowledge of the community and region gained from career as a top level media executive. Developed strong relationships with area leaders and elected officials which ensures needed access to decision-makers
Former board of directors member of The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce
Former board of directors member of The Woodlands Area Economic Development Partnership where he actively promoted quality development for Shenandoah
Former Vice-President of Voter Awareness Council. A volunteer non-profit service organization with a mission to increase voter knowledge and voter turn-out by providing non-biased, non-partisan reviews of candidates and issues in Montgomery County
Extensive executive management background in planning and development of successful media companies throughout Texas and California. Experience which will benefit Shenandoah through new ideas & programs to increase visibility, and desire to Shop, Dine, Stay and Live in Shenandoah

As an integral part of the current City of Shenandoah leadership team for over eight years, Jim has worked to keep Shenandoah taxes and water rates among the lowest in the state, to support Shenandoah’s “cutting edge” police department, and to keep improving it’s great amenities and incredible infrastructure. Shenandoah’s cost of living is second to none-Jim plans to make it even better
